Miranda of the wonderful Calgary Cloth Diaper Depot has graciously given me the opportunity to review an Earth Blue bambinoBUMS One Size Pocket Diaper for all of you!
CalgaryClothDiaperDepot.com
If you’ve seen bambinoBUMS in the past, you really should stick around and read my review. bambinoBUMS has undergone a makeover and are now sporting hot new colours like Electric Green – and even better, they have a new style which includes both crossover and hip snaps for an even better fit!
At First Glance
Upon first inspection, I immediately noticed the similarities between this diaper and many up-and-coming off-shore manufactured cloth diapers. Nevertheless, the bumbinoBUMS diaper I have in my hands is definitely well sewn and is very soft and supple to the touch! It also (as you will see below) looks great and has most of the bells and whistles of a One Size Pocket Diaper that one could ask for!
What I love about bambinoBUMS
bambinBUMS OS Pocket Diapers with snaps fit babies and children from 8lbs to 40lbs. With the 3×3 adjustable rise, crossover and hip snaps, I am able to get the PERFECT fit on my little guy! And that perfect fit explains why this diaper performs so well overnight with no leaks at all! I do, however, double-stuff it – my guy is a heavy wetter, after all!
The back-loading pocket is quite spacious, and allows for easy stuffing – and double-stuffing when needed. The elastic used everywhere is soft and stretchy and contours around my 8 month old’s legs and waist absolutely perfectly – leaving no red marks in sight. All this makes me a happy mama!
bambinoBUMS OS pocket diapers are comparable to most pocket-diapers in terms of trimness yet do not require me to dress my son in larger clothing to accommodate them like some other diapers do. That’s a definite plus for me, as is the smooth microsuede lining which is very soft and helps keep my little one’s skin dry.
I would love to see some bambinoBUMS diaper prints in addition to their great selection of solid colours!
At $14 a diaper (including the insert) they are quite affordable! And if you take advantage of the HUGE sale going on at Calgary Cloth Diaper Depot, you can buy 14 for just $120 – that’s just $8.57 a diaper – WITH INSERT! What a STEAL! But you need to hurry, this sale ends August 31st!
What I could live without
Maybe it’s just mine, but the label reads: “Use: Stuff pocket with insert and fasten onto baby with hook and loop.” Now, my husband, who helps with the laundry and actually reads the tags, was really thrown off by this. He came upstairs to ask me if he was crazy – which I of course said yes to, without knowing what he was talking about ;) I’m going to assume this was either an oversight or someone has a lot of leftover “hook and loop” labels from a previous diaper to use up ;) Bottom line is as long as you or your husband know that the diaper has snaps and know how to use them, this shouldn’t be a problem. :)
Pet-Peeve Alert: As with other cloth diapers with rounded tabs, these tabs tend to roll up. I prefer square tabs because of that, but that’s just my personal preference. It, of course, doesn’t impact the functionality of the diaper by any means.

The Verdict on bambinoBUMS
bumbinoBUMS OS Pocket Diapers are truly a great diapering option for families. They work well, look cute, are very affordable and best of all – are adjustable from birth to potty training! I definitely recommend trying bambinBUMS for yourself – both you and your little one will be glad you did!

Baby due in the fall, 10 years since my last. I’d love to try one of the new generation of cloth. I used Kooshies/Kushies last time round.
