Amber recently posted..Hicks Nurseries: Best free spot to bring your toddler

    Jenn Reply:

Cute! Where has he seen/heard of pink drills before?

    Amber Reply:

Oh, he hasn’t seen one, I don’t think. I looked and couldn’t find one. The best I could do was red. I ended up getting a black one (I think) in an iPlay tool kit that is supposedly BPA, PVC free. We are even writting Santa an addendum to his letter that he no longer wants the duckfish. He’d rather have a drill instead.

    Jenn Reply:

Funny how kids that age come up with the strangest requests!

I’m glad you found a substitute, but you don’t sound convinced that it’s actually BPA/PVC Free.

Are you a conspiracy theorist now? :p

  • Santa can just bring me some money :P Hehe, my son is still an infant, but I’m sure if he was older he would tell Santa to bring him cars and trucks. At 8 months he is already obsessed with cars and always has to have one in hand.

  • Haha, no just a burned shopper. That’s what you get when you go with plastic, I suppose. I just found out that one of our favorite toys (the Playmobil 1.2.3 sets), which I only bought because it was supposedly BPA, PVC free and made with safer ABS plastic, DOES have BPA in them. I am so mad. We have a ton of pieces, Nate loves playing with them, and I bought two more for Christmas this year. Evil plastic.

    Jenn Reply:

Eeeek, that really sucks! I can see why you’d be so “disgruntled” ;)
How did you find out it has BPA anyway? Were you doing a search on it?

    Amber Reply:

I had originally researched the toys and written a post on it about a year ago. A nice reader commented on the post last week letting me know that new testing had been done and Playmobil toys are laden with BPA.
