Natural Play Dough recipe #parenting #natural #children
One of the (many) things I really enjoy doing with my boys is playing with play-dough. I admit, we used to buy commercially made play dough but that didn’t last long once I realized how easy it is to make our own, with natural (food grade) ingredients!
So today I’m going to share with you my ultimate favourite play-dough recipe. It’s super duper easy to make, works really well and lasts a long time!
Natural Play Dough Recipe
2 c. FLOUR
1c. Salt
2 TBsp. Vegtable Oil
2 c. Boiling Water
Assortment of natural food coloring
Directions
Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Stir in oil & boiling water.
Allow to cool slightly, then knead.
Separate into small batches. Work in natural food colouring* while wearing plastic gloves if necessary.
Store play dough in air-tight containers in the fridge.
Note: *To achieve earthy tones, I added a slight amount of red & yellow food colouring to each ball before adding additonal colouring.
Have you ever made play-dough? If so, how did it turn out?

I have to remember this when Riss gets a little older. I remember my mom making play dough but not sure how she made it!

Any natural food store, like Whole Foods! But you can also make your own … if you feel like it ;)
