Why do I love my Apple Crumble? #recipe #dessert
If you haven’t taken notice, I love to bake! But baking with my 3 year old is MUCH more fun than baking alone! :)
Today we were busy making my famous Apple Crumble. It’s like apple crisp, only it has a much softer, chewier topping!
It’s quite delicious, economical and I certainly recommend you give it a try!

Ingredients {organic when possible}:
- 4 cups sliced apples (granny smith are great!)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4c – 1 cup all-purpose flour
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease (if desired) an 8×8 inch baking dish.
2. Place apples, neatly layered inside dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. In a bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Blend in flour with a fork. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.
3. Bake in preheated oven 30 to 40 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
Can you smell the deliciousness yet? :)
What do you like to do in the kitchen with your little ones?

Yum! I absolutely love apple crumble but I love adding oatmeal into my topping. I’ll be trying this out this weekend.

This looks so easy and sounds delicious. Will definitely try it.
I bake with my daughter too, almost every weekend. It’s our thing — compounded by the glee that my husband is relegated the role of clearing the mess and washing the dishes :)

looks yummy. I, too, love cooking with my toddler. He loves dumping ingredients and stirring and cleaning. So fun!
